What is the most important benefit of blogging?

In my humble opinion the most Important benefit of Blogging is that a writer can polish his writing skills by blogging everyday, about whatever he wants to write about. What is the most important benefit of blogging in your opinion?

I would have to say that I share your opinion regarding the most important benefit of blogging. Still, I did not really make good use of this while I was blogging because there were no editorial constraints. I learned most about writing when I joined Helium where I discovered that my writing left much to be desired.
