Currently my dog Sherlock is laying on my lap while I'm on the computer. He's taking up one arm, so I'm trying to type with one hand. He is currently front and center in my mind as he is really having horrible gas at the moment. It doesn't seem to bother him, he's happy as a lark. But it sure as heck bothers me! I'm trying to breathe through my mouth. cry

Sherlock's favorite toy is this flat piece of pink material that uses to resemble some kind of small animal that I've yet to decipher its identity. I never will now, the stuffing has been pulled out. But he loves that thing, and doesn't want a new one. Makes me think of Gissi and gabs discussion about him wanting his blankets back. What is your pet's favorite toy?

I have two dogs and one of them is fat and arrogant and doesn't care for toys, the other one likes whichever toy you bring home. The last one(hidden in the closet at the time) is some blue dog-bear with it's guts torn out, that's why it's banned at the moment. It's great to see him happy but he should definitely control his passion to tear things up. Otherwise, five minutes of play mean twenty minutes of vacuuming for me! lol

I know what you mean! I've come home to a room full of white stuffing many times!

Yeah, and then he looks at you with those innocent eyes like "I don't inderstand... Who told you it was me?.." with a piece of white stuck to the corner of his mouth lol

Our vehicles are actually our cats favorite toys. If they are outside and we come home, they are all over the car, trying to come in the windows, sitting on the roof of the convertible, sliding down the windshield. Creamery likes Bob to open the drivers door, and he wants to walk through and out my door, then back again.

That is SO cute! When I'm at my parent's house sometimes when I leave, I catch their neighbor's cat on my truck. I try to walk up quietly because it looks like it is sunbathing and it is so cute.

My dog loves stuffed animals, we call them foo foos. He plays with those in the house. Outdoors is obsessed with his tennis ball. He carries everywhere, until he finds someone to throw it for him. Our cats, we have 3, like this old string, a stuffed mouse with a bell on the tail, and a plastic ball that has a bell in it. They are really strange.

LOL, good thing the cats aren't the dogs favorite toys. Actually I think it is the other way around, it's a good thing the dogs aren't the cats favorite toys!

We would give our dog little stuffed animals and she would play with them for maybe a day then rip the stuffing out and she would get a new one. Well, my son gave her this little stuffed tiger with fluffy arms and legs- it was his, a gift from his big sister, but he felt like he wanted the dog to have it for some reason. I was a little worried because it is the cutest little toy, his sister gave it to him, and I*knew* that it wouldn't last more than a few days.

Well...was I ever wrong!

It is a golden brown color, just like her (she is a golden retriever). She has never once chewed it, she carries it around, and she sleeps with it. I know we aren't supposed to "humanize" our dogs...but I am convinced she thinks this thing is her baby...and that's what we call it- say to her "where's your baby?" and she will go find it and bring it to you. I thought it would last all of three days..? She has had it now for about THREE YEARS!! I just don't know what we will do if it ever falls apart. cry

The other toy she likes (same son gave it to her...lol) is a fluffy bone that squeaks...I've never seen a dog actually play with a squeaky toy like that- usually they just try their darndest to get the squeak out, haha- but she will play with it by pushing her nose into it until she finds the squeaky spot and then she just sits there and squeaks away! It's pretty comical. happy

My dog Roxy loves to play with balls. My husband and I got her a set of three smaller sized balls a while back and they are her absolute favorite toys. The basketball is her favorite. My new puppy Kingston has a stuffed dinosaur that he loves right now. He even has to sleep with it at night.

the dog does not really play with anything... but loves to get tangled up in yarns and threads - and to sleep on anything plush.

the cats both love to play with the caps off of soda or water bottles (the plastic twist type)
they throw them in the air, bat them around the floor like a hockey puck - hide them in bags, chase them and stalk them... they also carry them around in their mouths like a mouse. they especially like orange or red colored ones.

my cousins had a bassett hound named sherlock - I thought it the perfect name for him as he seemed such a sleuth with his nose to the ground and long ears looking like the flaps on sherlock holmes' hat.

i have a Pekingese, who has 2 toys he likes, one is a small white dog with black ears, that is his favorite and he don't want anyone to touch it, and he has a large teddy bear that was my granddaughter's and he latched onto it and won't let her have it back, he gets it out in the floor and he beats the heck out of it. It is as big as he is. He had a whole basket full of toys he never touched and I sacked them up and gave them to the neighborhood kids the other day.

I have 2 cats. The older one doesn't have a favourite toy, unless you count the chair that she's claimed as her very own. She will let the younger one share it occasionally, if she's feeling particularly content lol.

My younger one however has a blue ball. She will actually play fetch with us. She chases after it when we throw it, and fetches it right back and drops it into our hand for us to throw it again. We know eventually she'll probably not do it, because she's just a kitten right now, but it's always fun to see her bound after it and fetch it back to us. She dictates when she's had enough by grabbing it, and taking it somewhere else instead of back to us.

That is pretty cool that a cat fetches. I hope she keeps it up even when she grows into a full size cat. It's too cute not to continue.: )
