The mouse wants in the house

There is a field mouse out on the front porch. It really seems to want in the house, although so far, it scurries away whenever someone comes in from outside. Captain Morgan, our "kitten" (he's less than a year old but bigger than our 2-yr-old cat, Gacie) wants it to come in. Gracie knows how much work it is to catch mice, and she's not too thrilled at my wife and daughter shrieking at such a tiny creature.
Our house is only three years old, and was built on former pasture land and the ancestral home of the field mice.
So the question is, do I let the mouse inside the house where it's sure to meet certain doom? Or should I let it live outside and face the talons of the neighborhood red-tailed hawk?

Captain Morgan deserves a snack and a good bit of excersise. Let it in. And then sit back and enjoy the show.

Oh they are so cute, if it was me I would have it in the house and put the cat on the porch!
When I had my cat it was a bone of contention between us at how he used to fetch me dear little fieldmice as presents and I always tried to save them but only once I managed it.
