what is the difference between "I like you" and "I love you"?

i like you may be the start of liking. it can be said that the person wants to have arelationship with you. it is also used in case of friendships as well. there it means taht the person likes your attitude a sfriend.

I think it's the same.Varies on the level of like and love. It's just how people interpret it. I like you is more better when you say it with your friends or not so close people.. I love you is more better when you say it with your lover or parents or anyone so close to you... If your saying those phrases, tell them the true meaning of it so that they will not misinterpret...

in simple terms, when you have a normal liking towards something, u say "like", when u have a great liking, u call it "love", thats wat i feel

I like u-this goes the way that one is not confidant enough about his/her feelings,as may be one cannot make out whether he/she is sure enough to make a commitment or fear of rejection or acceptance, even doubt on the person proposing to. but when u are confidant and have the guts to face the effect then there is straight-I love you

Hi..well i think there is quite difference in those two statements....we like someone as a friend,they are pleasant and we would enjoy to go out with them or have a chatter with them.But loving someone is very different,thats quite a commitment...one that you have to give you heart and soul to...

saying i love you of course, means more than i like you. "like" is a shallow feeling of just wanting to see a person, wanting to be with the person but nothing more than that... no sacrifices, no late night talks and no "getting to know" you in a deeper way.

I don't think their meanings are similar at all. Because love means much more than you could ever imagine. But to like someone is different, it is a bit "lite" when compared to love. because love includes everything about this person. In every aspect of life.

Of course, it is not easy to say "I love you" to a person so people say "I like you" at the start. Because love has a greater angle and you cannot mean that very easily. This is why it is not said very easily (if you are sincere of course) however, if you are not very sincere, you can take everything easy and you can say whatever you want.

When it comes to say "I like you" to a person that means you are having nice time with him or her. That means the way which she or he acts makes you feel positive around him, or her. And you can say this is "to like" someone. However, if you like someone that doesn't mean you will want to share everything with him or her, I mean both all the good things,and the bad.

If you have the feeling to share everything with that person. Such as their bad days,sorrows as well as happinesses, and if you can share everything you have with him or her, if you feel the life wouldn't be very nice without him or her then this could be a short definition of love in my opinion.

To sum up, I can say when saying "I love you" you mean something intense, something that covers whole aspects of life but when you say "I like you" instead, that means it is more concentrated on the time you share with him and having fun.

Simply i like you usually mean that he or she see something from you maybe the physical appearance or ur attitude.. I love you for me means that he or she see something beyond you whole being in a way that you influence him or her feelings..
