Would you give your child the name of a famous person?

I recently read an article about Edgar Allan Poe. Not the one you're probably thinking of, but a man who was the White House's plumber. Apparently, he was very ill when he was born, and his parents thought he wouldn't survive. So, they acted upon a neighbor's suggestion that they name him Edgar Allan because their last name was Poe. But, he lived, and he's had to deal with people thinking he was lying about his name for years. He said in the article that whenever he meets someone he has to show them his driver's license before they they will believe him. Would you do this to your child? What if, like his parents, you thought the child wouldn't survive?

I couldn't name my child after someone famous. I would want my child to have their own unique different name. I like having unique names for my kids and if they have a name of someone famous then it wouldn't be unique and it wouldn't be something that I came up with me.
