blind dates

I don't know about you guys but i have some accounts on different dating sites. It's simple : write a few words about yourself , add a photo, say what are you looking for and it's done. You are now in their search engines. If only people would really say the truth and post pictures of themselves i guess some relationships might actually start on the site. I went out with 2 or 3 guys i met online but disaster is too small to describe my experiences . One of them was a hot shot and annoying as hell. All he could talk about was himself , "the never ending story". Ditched him! The second guy was the cerebral kind. He made an account on the site by mistake and bumped into me because he was a busy guy and can not afford wasting his time on stupid things like that. He had the superior look on his face like i was supposed to worship him. Ditched him! The third one was the "strawberry without the cream". My best friend hooked us up! Bad idea! I guess my best friend does not like me that much. He was all muscles .... no brain...obsessed by his looks and stared in every mirror he could find. A conversation with him on culture or society would be asking to much. All he could talk about was football and muscles protein and once in a while he would clench his fists. Do you go on blind dates? Have similar things happened to you as well?

Yep but not from any online site. Actually, my friend had a text mate and they decided to meet up. She wanted me to be with her so I agreed to accompany her. Oh my, he was 44 years old and my friend is just 18 years old. We thought he was younger but he is not. He acted nice though, we just had lunch then chitchat then after that, we went straight home. So.. that is "our" experience in blind dating so far. lolz.

Uhhh ... 44 ... I am glad it didn't happen to me i guess. Considering they were text mates i guess it's OK ! He wanted to see the face behind the words. I hope the guy didn't expect an actual date from your friend .

Thank goodness no! I guess he just wanted someone to really talk to... lolz After that, they just exchange nice quotes then after few months, he texted that he is engaged and getting married. :) We are invited. hehehe. We are both happy for him.

I've never been on a blind date. My parents met on a blind date --still together. My husband's parents also met on a blind date --still together. So maybe there is a secret to the formula in still in there.

Can i please get the secret formula? I gave up online dating and any other kind of fixing ups a while ago. I rather see the person with my own two eyes before going out . It's nice to hear that in some cases it actually works out for the best!

When my husband I divorced, I didn't know how to get back into the dating scene. I don't go to bars and I am fairly shy. I decided to try online dating. I was honest and told them upfront that I was planning to play the field and they seemed okay with that. I was also honest with the fact I had multiple sclerosis and yes one guy did bolt, so fast my hair was messed from the wind. There were some boring men and some that thought they were God's gift to the universe. One fellow I dated seemed sad and unsure of himself. Very nervous on our first date. We dated a few times and then I told him I was going on a date with someone else, as I had told him I was playing the field, checking out what I wanted. So I went on this date with this other man and he seemed to think it was going well and wanted to know if I wanted to carry it forward and have dinner. Unfortunately, all through our lunch fireworks were going off and all I could think of the man I had dated a few times. I could not wait to get home and call him. We've been married for almost 8 years now. Life has never been better. He is a kind, loving, generous, man and I have never regretted marrying him. So, the winners are out there, but you have wade through the losers sometimes to find them. Good luck!
