Do you dance to have fun? It may be good for your health too...

I just was watching the news and noticed that people with Parkinson's Disease were being told to start dancing as when they dance they often have a break from their symptoms and feel "normal." The experts do not know whether this ability to move freely and to feel the feelings in the body that have not been felt for some time is due to the endorphins or happy chemicals that it causes or something else. Add this to the research that shows that those who take up dancing tend to exercise more and to enjoy doing it and thus tend to lose more weight and be happier doing it than those who take up other forms of exercise and it looks like dancing is a very healthy way to have fun. Do you dance to have fun? Has it improved your health in any way? Does it make you feel better?

I love that song... I used to hear it around the house too as my mother was 100% Irish and proud of it. I think I heard it first though from a movie. Thanks for sharing it with me here.
