Rival team helps injured girl round the bases for a game winning home run

I don't believe that I have ever witnessed something like this, but isn't it great for the teams to show such good sportsmanship to each other.. It is not a common occurence anymore.. Good for them..

That is absolutely awesome!! What sportsmanship to be able to do something like this for the other team, & especially on a winning run!! I knew girls had better sportsmanship than the guys. This just proves it!!Lori

It is great, and I have certainly never heard of anything like that happening before, I like to hear nice stories once in a while, there do not seem to be many of them these days!!

This is really a nice example. I always think that sports is not just winning and loosing, it teaches u much more than that first thing is developement of sportsmanship. This is real sportsmanship. I am feeling unlucky i couldnt this event live. This is really a great news for sports' world.

Nothing this heart warming but my sons were in a winter indoor soccer league this year and there was this one boy on the team who would literally knock over anyone who crossed his path. His team mates or otherwise. He had just taken his own brother out for getting in front of him when my youngest son happened across his path. He ran into my boy, stopped, steadied him so he didn't fall down, then went around him after the ball.

That was sweet I though.

My husband came home and told me about this yesterday. He had me in tears - I was so impressed with the coach and the team. he told me the girl was a senior and this was her first home run hit? I've never witnessed anything like this, but I would have been there cheering.

Oh wow, now how often what we see something like this happening..
It must be a first I think.

That is really amazing.

I haven't seen anything like this happen in person but I love to hear stories like this! I would have been in tears watching this happen in person; no matter which team I was rooting for. Stuff like this really touches me.

Thank you for sharing that story. It was very nice to read and I shared it with my family. It's nice to see some people look beyond just winning and doing the right thing for a change. You are so right when you say that it is "an AWESOME example of great sportsmanship!"

I have never seen anything like that but I really hope to some day do so. Hopefully others will hear of this story and perhaps inspire them to be like those girls on that team. Actually most people could learn a lesson from them. They cared more about what was right then about what would help themselves. Selfishness like that is in my opinion news worthy and something for us all to aspire to.
