artist trading cards..  

Hi. Years a go I did some. Well, I think that cards have usefulness always. And some people like to give exclusive cards if they can get ones.

I make them when I have time, and a clear space to get messy... haha...

But, I sell them in my etsy shop because I don't know many people to trade with otherwise, so they are called (I learned this ling from Etsy by the way) ACEOs... or Art cards, editions and originals.

I guess, ATCs started as trade-able works of art, which makes perfect sense, but then there are those who would like to collect them, though they may not make them, or have any to trade... so ACEO's came about... giving us the ability to fairly sell them... and without calling them trading cards.

Some artists don't like it when others sell ATCs, but I think it's a fun way to collect art on a small scale, so i'm happy with either trading and/or buying/selling...

This is interesting. I have never known of such cards. Can you give me an idea how it came about, I mean any history or particular place where they are popular? What is it for or any information? Do you mind if you post your works? I would love to see them and perhaps make one when I have the time.

What I know we have here in my country are postcards. Some artists and designers make their cards and sell them. I think they are great as collections. And great for self promotion too. I already got some from my artist friends.

Do you know of any site I can browse about these cards? I would really like to know more about them.
