Is there a woman's magazine for me?

I am a 48-year-old professional working mom, married, college degree, writer, reader, funny, artsy, preppy, fun, deep, creative, enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, curious, beauty conscious but no botox, bargain-shopper, sometimes depressed and fat who is looking to create a magazine for women like me who don't "fit" the formats of existing women's magazines (MORE comes closest, Oprah also a contender). I am just beginning to define exactly what it is that's missing from the magazines - the niche I intend to fill once I can articulate just what it is I want. Are you a woman in my age group equally frustrated? What is it that's missing for you from the current offerings? What would you like to see in a women's mag targeted to someone your age, in your circumstances? I want to know!

Redbook is WAY removed from the kind of magazine I envision. It's old-school. Fuddy duddy. Too traditional. Defining what I don't like about the other magazines is helpful, so thanks!

If it ever gets off the ground, and I can afford to pay someone other than myself to write, I'll keep you in mind : ) Working on names ... among all the rest involved in putting together a business plan for such a massive. Thanks for the quick reply!

I'm 45yrs old. I know what I don't like in a magazine. I am tired of weight loss secrets, how to catch a man, everyday wardrobes that are over $1000!?. I mean geez, how many weight loss secrets can their be??-- Diet and excercise, DUH! I could care less about catching a man, I'm married. Even if I wasn't, I certainly wouldn't want to "catch" one. I can't afford an $800. purse, I didn't even spend that much on my van!!
I think it might be nice to have a magazine that focuses on women over 40. I would like to hear stories about how and what other women do. Everything from a woman CEO, to life on welfare, or a rancher in Texas, or maybe an Amish womans story (if they're aloud). How did they get where they are? What do they do in their spare time? What type of gadgets do they use? Maybe some money advise, saving for the future. Some helpful resources, such as healthcare, domestic violence help, outreach programs. Some light humorous stories. It would just be nice to have something about real people, not just the mold of what woman are "supposed" to be like.
