I just purchased my first digital camera and it should be arriving tomorrow. I have no idea how to use one. It is not very expensive, I want to get use to them before I purchase a lot of confusing buttons.
Can anyone explain to me the basics of using a digital camera. How the pictures are uploaded to the computer and things like that. I am so excited, yet clueless.

I don't know much about our digital camera other than pointing and taking shots LOL They should give you a manual when you purchase it :) Good luck.

I am glad I made you smile, Polly. Now I need to smile again. Anybody want to buy a dumb ol' dinky digital camera? I can promise you, it has never been used. My roommate's brother, who is slightly retarded is coming over tomorrow. She says he has a digital camera and can help me figure things out, oh joy.

I am still learning about my digital camera. I love it, you can take hundreds of pictures abd not have to get them all developed. With my 35mm camera I had no choice but to get all the pics developed, that can get expensive too. Read the manual and play with it. You can always delete pictures that you don't like, thats another great feature to the digital cameras. Have fun and good luck.

Now I have to disagree with you when you say that you have no choice but to get the pics developed from the 35mm camera. Obviously you have never met my middle sister. She has undeveloped film all over the house. Even on the bathroom sink counter.
I was giving her a hard time about it the other day. I do not see the point in taking pictures if you never get them developed. She is so silly.
Everyone keeps telling me to play with this thing. But so far, all I have been able to do is turn on the power. I couldn't even turn it off with having to open the battery chamber. When I tried to take a picture, nothing happened. I will continue to play with it, but I do not feel I will be getting very far. I read the entire instruction manuel, what there was of it. I am still totally lost, LOL.

I love digital cameras. I always try to buy one that is easy to operate. I have a Samsung digital camera and its pretty easy to use. But there is still a few things that I don't know how to work. Read the manual book, that will help you out and play with the camera.
My camera came with a USB card that you hook up to the camera and computer so you can upload the photos. Make sure you download the software as well to the computer.
Don't forget to buy a SD card. Depending on the size, it allows you to save a lot of photos on the card. You can find one at walmart for about $15. With this card you can insert it in a photo printer and it prints your photo, or you can go to walmart and insert it into the kodak picture maker and print and edit your photos.
Once you get the hang of it you will love it. These cameras can do so much.
