Now if you know me I don't have a green thumb at all so this dream is kind of funny for me to have. I love flowers and wish I did have some out front of my house. If I did have a green thumb I would have lots of bright yellow flowers as that color always makes me happy. Does anyone know of any bright yellow flowers that could survive me?*L* What would you plant in a flower garden if you had one? Do you have a flower garden if so what is in it?

hi triciaW,
i wish the same when it comes to having a green thumb. my mom have one though and unfortunately she didnt pass it along to me. it always amazes me whenever she pick a piece of a plant and bring it home and then stick it to the ground and after days it is flowering and or bearing fruit. i just dont know how she do it coz i love to garden myself.
anyway, i dont have a garden yet but i do plant at home and on our porch, i have some lilies, roses and tulips but they are no longer in bloom now., i am hoping i will be having a good garden when we have our own place so i can enjoy my time out there.
like you i love to see different colors of flower (my favorite are tulips) and plant some vegetables as well.
i think a good hand can be learned but so far i am not yet lucky on figuring how LOL

I don't have a green thumb either. I am lucky though, my husband does:)
I have a nice U shaped flower garden in the front of my house. It has mostly peennials planted in it. Then every year I go out and get some yellow and orange flowers (sorry, don't know what they are called) and we plant them around the edge of the garden and we also line the house wiht them. They seem to be easy to grow flowers and they sread wonderfully.
When I am picking out flowers, I always go for yellow first. I love the brightness of them.

Most of the flowers that propagate by bulb are pretty hardy and tolerant. I just transplanted a bunch of daffodils from various places in the yard and adjoining woods and put them in an area at the front of the house and they did well. Grape hyacinth too.
There are dozens of forms of daffodils, bright yellow, light yellow, cream, white, etc. If you put in different varieties, they would bloom at different intervals, while one is dying off, the other is coming into bloom. You can't go wrong there, but most won't last into the late spring/summer.
Also tulip, iris, daylily - all of those would be pretty easy to take care of. Those I know from personal experience.
If you want to know from a more professional standpoint, do a search online (and get paid for it - look at my profile to see how!) using words like hardy flowers, etc. There are dozens of good gardening sites out there that I know would be of help to you.
Good luck!
