The year was 1975 and I lived in Palmdale,California.
For whatever reason I never knew anything about Cinco de Mayo.
Our neighbors actully across the backyard from us were a Mexican family.
They invited us to come to Ensenada to spend Cinco de Mayo celebrations with them. It was also their 15 year old daughters B-Day on the 6th and since she was our babysitter we wanted to go.
We had the best time and that was when I feel in love with smoked bonita.
They were wonderful neighbors and good friends..I have lost track of them which is too bad!
what memories do you have to share?

Hi raydene! This just happened two months ago, one day before my birthday. My brother was able to get his kids for that day and they first came to my home and we went out for dinner and brought them to the arcade. It was fun and I did love being with my nieces and nephew once again since we just got to see them once last Christmas. My nieces and nephew are my happiness. That is the last time I saw them since their mother who is estranged from my brother is doing all her can so we won't be able to see the children. I will never forget my last day with them and I am hoping it won't be the last one. But in the meantime that beautiful memory I have with them will give me the strength and courage until the day I could be with them once again. This is my beautiful memory I will keep in my heart and at the same time a painful one. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!

that is an awfully big topic, a person could go anywhere with it. I wrote all my memories in my first book, what can I say here, first of all I don't know any mexican people, there are not that many in montreal.
one of my favourite memories is going to the synagogue for the first time, my boyfriend is jewish he took me to hear the cantor, she had a voice of an angel, and she sang in hebrew. I loved seeing the old scrolls, the actually parade down the isles with them and you can tough it, or kiss it. I loved the service so much.
