What if you don't have rice crispees?

What if you would like to make rice crispee cake and had no rice crispees? I had everything but that to make the squares then noticed that I had corn flakes. I continued to make the cake and let it cool once it was finished. It was delicious~ Have you ever replaced an ingredient that you were missing with something else? How did that turn out for you?

Although this isn't too much of a difference from Rice Krispies, I used Cocoa Crispies to make Rice Krispie Treats. I havn't used the regular kind since. I usually go all out with the rice krispies though, like adding M&Ms, Recees Pieces or other stuff into the "batter". I also add a little(like a teaspoon or so) of vanilla to the sticky mess. Gives it a great taste! I don't make them very often because the stuff seems to make this entire kitchen sticky, but i love them. Those ones that you can buy already made don't quite taste right.

Of course I don't mind. I came up with the idea when Cocoa Krispies first came out, and now they have the recipe on their website like it was a new invention. :) Just a tip, write down the recipe if you got it from the regular rice krispie box. They dont put the recipe on the cocoa krispies, so you'll need to get the recipe from somewhere else. Ill save you some trouble with expierements. Fruity Pebbles tatse REALLY weird made into Krispie treats. Don't even bother. Lucky Charms get really weird too, although the extra crunchy marshmallows inside were really cool. Good luck trying new recipes. I love revamping recipes with different stuff.
