Oh, I completely misunderstood what you were referring to. I thought you were running the program and it was giving you an error. Not that you just needed to up date your virus list. You can set the program to do that automatically.

Hi Marcia-I too have AVG free edition and tried to download the new one without any success even though I had paid for it so have had to cancel the new one and am now using three version of it for a few days then am having someone come and sort it out for me as he is a computer engineer he is going to fix my laptop with another anti spyware-apparently by the end of May AVG are handing their spyware etc to someone else as the viruses etc nowadays are managing to get through even the free antispywares-it is one of the biggest pains of being on the net-littleowl

I am confused sometimes, because I might see 2 of them,I don't know which is which, and I think I have a phoney one, because it doesn't look like the other one. Whenever i see it I delete it.

Hi Marcia-as said I am using the free edition at the moment and am trying to get my money back from the more updated version as I don't trust it and that is causing more problems than its worth-also someone else on here (darkwing) has updated to the new version and is experiencing a lot of problems with it so if I were you I'd take it to the shop or get someone to look at it who will be able to let you know what you actually have on your computer cos it does sound like a virus you have as well-next week I am having someone comeout and sort mine out and put a new version of anti-spyware etc which has been recommended to him-hope that has helped littleowl
