How many times have you had to listen to how people feel ?A family who lost their teenage son visited over the weekend .Both husband and wife kept talking about how they missed their son and what a wonderful person he was. We simply listen to them let out their pains and memories, while just putting in a sentence or two when needed. In all they did all the talking while we listened attentively. When they were about to go the husband pulled me back at the door, shook my hand firmly and said “thanks man, for listening, we really needed somebody to talk to who would just listen to us and you did just that’s was happy we have helped them ease the pain by listening in our own little way. Until that time I have never really considered that people needed to talk and just be listened to like that, unless I am meeting a client. Do you see yourself a good listener who will just sit there listening?

Yes, I believe myself to be a very good listener. I have many friends who turn to me for that shoulder to lean on or just that person to talk to you. I guess I usually find the better part for them to focus on. My friends tend to ask for my feedback. I try to keep their heads up and help them through their rough times. I believe by helping them that one day I know they will help me.
