Smoking versus dipping  | |  I want to pose a question to all the people who are on mylot,who here smokes?If you do smoke how long have you smoked?And what do you smoke?Who here dips?If you dip then how long have yo dipped?And what do you dip?Which do you think is more deadly?Why do you think it is more deadly? I have tried cigarettes before,but I have never really liked them,instead I dip,I have dipped for like two years now,I used to Timberwolf,Kodiak,Kayak,and Longhorn,and occasionally Grizzly,now I dip Skoal pouches,I prefer citrus pouches, or apple pouches.I know some people say dipping is just as bad as smoking,but I disagree,I believe smoking is worse,because smoking not only can blacken your lungs and give you lung cancer,but second hand smoke can do the same for others,cause they say second hand smoke is deadlyier then smoking it yourself,while dipping can only really cause mouth cancer,which I know cancer is bad no matter where it is,but you can live without your jaw,but you cant live without your lungs,and dipping doesnt pose any threat,to anyone who is around it because since the nicotine and tobacco is taken in through the gums,noone else is at risk of getting it in there system,and another thing I like about dipping is you can dip at more places then you can smoke,because unless a sign says no tobacco instead of no smoking, you can technically dip,because dipping is different then smoking,and besides you can hide the fact that you are dipping.

It was horrible, like a horror movie. It ate up his lips, and mouth and we at his nose when they took the picture. I think he wanted others to see what it could do. I will never forget that pic, it's stuck in my head for life. But it was a good lesson, not that I would have ever tried it. LOL! I guess you could live without your jaw, but how would you eat, talk, drink, swollow, sing, whistle......oh my. Would they be able to reconstruct it with plastic surgery? I would never venture into public again for fear of scaring the be-jeebers out of people. Yikes! Face cancer is bad stuff. My stepdad got it on his neck and it ended up eating away half of his face and he eventually died from it all. Cancer is cancer anymore. I don't know if one is worse than the other.

| hellcowboy (2358) | 4 months ago | I am sorry it gives you the willies,and yes it is possible to cancer in your lip if you dip,and it can eat away at your face,but it doesnt always happen,I think in the future they will be able to reconstruct someones jaw,and you could still find ways to eat,drink and swallow,but without lungs you would be screwed.And I am sorry to hear that your stepdad got it on his neck,and I am sorry that it ate away half his face,and I am sorry that it eventually killed him,and in someways cancer is cancer,and all cancer is bad. | |

Ads you see everywhere make it seem like everybody wants to quit. I don't think that's true. I believe you're right about second hand smoke, it is bad for people, but I also believe smokers are discriminated against. As for dipping, well, I never did like it when my husband did it. I always thought it was gross, but I'm a girl, I think we're supposed to think that!

| SomeCowgirl (2039) | 4 months ago | I used to think that it was gross, but well I guess not really. I know that must sound a bit confusing, but it was only gross the one time I cleaned out my cousins bottle. I didn't realize he had his chew in the bottom.
My Fiance (ahem yes him... the one making the discussion) dips and it doesn't bother me. It's in a pouch, and I do clean his bottle out sometimes. All we do is dump it in the toilet, flush it and put soap in it. I've also kissed him while he has it in, and for the sake of this discussion, yes i've frenched him with it too.
It's only gross if the guy (or yes even girl) does it in a way that is well known, and slobber comes down from their mouth. That does disgust me a little, but it happens from time to time...
No way meaning to offend you, I understand that it would gross you out... but it never really did me. I suppose it also has something to do with whether you've seen people do it before or not. I have, but I paid no mind.
