Pancakes for a penny - lots of pancakes

A restaurant down the street from where I live called "Colonial Cafe and Ice Cream" are having pancakes today for one penny, all day. They are known for having great breakfast food and the best ice cream around. My son and a bunch of his friends went there to have pancakes. You can buy as many as thirty, and they are not small. The only this is you have to buy a drink. It can be any drink at all. So would you go and get your pancakes for one penny?

I may have one pancake only for breakfast. I don't like to have too much sweet during the day. It makes me hungry for something spicy.

Sweets make you want something spicy. I think spicy foods are better for us than sweets. I like a little spice but not too much!

Wow, that's a great deal! If a place near me was having a deal like that going on, I would definitely take advantage of it. I love pancakes, so of course I like going out for pancakes anyway, but I would definitely try to stop by for them if they were only a penny each!

My son said the restaurant was crowded even at 9:00pm. People were coming and going all day.

Oh wow. I would definately go to this restaurant. Especially if I didn't have to make the pancakes that morning. I think I would buy as many as I could and then ask for a doggie bag.

I'm not sure if you could take any home. They were bringing out three at a time as long as you were eating them.

I am salivating. When I saw this post a couple of days ago I went to search for the name of restaurant and I was disappointed there isn't one near me. But if it was near I would have gone there and eaten loads of it with my peanut butter and honey or syrup. Of course I will buy a drink as it would choke me to eat just the pancakes.

I will for sure. But with the oil price going up every now and then I hope they will still sell those pancakes for a penny by the time I get there.

I'm sorry that you don't have any near you, but if your ever in the Chicago area, don't forget to stop in. Peanut butter and honey syrup sounds delicious!

I'd love if we had something like that here. I love pancakes although I have to be real careful with my diabetes...too much syrup isn't a good thing. Even with the cost of their highest dollar drink I think you'd still get a heck of a deal. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I haven't tried the sugar free yet...the last time I had pancakes with syrup I almost passed out so I just try to avoid them :) **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I really enjoy pancakes when I eat breakfast type food out. I seldom do this, and it's even more rare for me to make them at home. This does sound like a deal that'd be too good to pass up. Even with buying a drink, the cost would be so minimal. Did you go there for the pancakes too?

No, I didn't. I was going to but my husband wasn't hungry before work and he works nights. I didn't really have anyone to go with. Everyone seemed to be busy yesterday. I guess I should of gone alone. lol
