Dark or Mild? Black or White? |
|
I've always enjoyed strong coffee. I've also only bought the mild strength coffee and made it as strong as a I could at home. I do add sugar and creamer to my coffee just to doctor it up a bit. The price of coffee is outrageous enough as it is, but when I went to our local grocery store this week, I noticed that the Folgers Gourmet Supreme Dark coffee was over two dollars cheaper than what I normally buy. Why not? If I don't like it, I know that I'll drink it anyway, because I need my coffee. I'll just doctor it up with more than my usual sugar and creamer. I have to say that I really like the dark coffee. It doesn't seem to hurt my stomach like the other (I'm awful about eating in the morning so I always drink coffee on an empty stomach), and the taste is much better. How about everyone else? Do you like dark coffee, or mild coffee? Do you like your coffee black or with creamer?

1. Breath (1510) | 3 months ago | I am the type of person who hardly ever drinks coffee...I love to smell it boiling...So rich and dark the scent...If I do drink a cup it is almsot turned white by sugar and creamer...it is the only way I can drink it...

2. Anne18 (621) | 3 months ago | I haven't drunk coffee for about six years. When I did drink coffee I used to drink it white, not too strong and with no sugar. Tea I like to drink quite strong and my hubby and daughter laugh and say they are going to make a tea shade chart up as sometimes I do like the tea to be a slighty different shade. So I am more a tea drinker than a coffe drinker but when I drank coffee I could drink about four cups in the morning. I used to drink tea before 9am, coffee until about 1pm and then swop back to tea for the afternoon and evening.

Amber4106 (204) | 3 months ago | I have never really been a tea drinker and I'm not sure why. I like iced tea, but hot tea just doesn't set with me. Thank you for your response.

4. FaerieAne2003 (350) | 3 months ago | Wow, I can't believe the Folgers was cheaper! I think that coffee prices are pretty ridiculous on the higher-end ones, and I actually prefer the taste of the lesser-priced blends. I love the Folgers French Roast, but I began wanting to try a new blend, and I came across Chock Full 'O Nuts. It was about $.50 cheaper per brick than Folgers, and I absolutely love it. It seems to brew a little blacker and stronger than Folgers, but not as bitter. I take my coffee with sugar and milk. I don't care for the powdered creamer, it's a little too sweet after I put in my sugar. The milk cools it off so I can actually drink it instead of watching it steam. I agree, the stronger version doesn't seem to bother me as much as the milder ones, and like you I don't eat in the mornings, but I HAVE to have my coffee! Good discussion!

Amber4106 (204) | 3 months ago | It seems strange to me that the darker coffee is actually milder on our stomachs. I figured I was in for some major stomach aches with this dark coffee, but I haven't noticed anything yet. Most of the time my stomach hurts to the point where I feel nauseous. I also use milk sometimes in my coffee to cool it down. There's nothing worse than burning your tongue on hot coffee. Thank you for your response!

5. gemini_rose (6219) | 3 months ago | I am not much for the strong coffee, I prefer a milder coffee. I also have coffee for breakfast! I like it white with a good spoonful of sugar, I tried to drink it black once and it was horrible!!

6. danishcanadian (12810) | 3 months ago | I like my coffee very black, and very strong. Nothing better than a good strong cup of coffee. There are days when I like my mochas with whipped cream, and chocolate on top, but even they need to be made extremely strong, so that I can still taste the wonderful coffee.
