Dead girl is Queen of the Prom

My grandaughter's prom will be at the
end of this month...The class has voted to
make Shannon ( the girl that died in the car crash recently)
the queen of the prom and the runner up will
be acting Queen at the actual prom.
There will be many tears shed at this prom!
Thoughts?

This is really hurting. They still vote for her eventhough she is already gone. Maybe they want to have something good for her to be part of this girl living history. Even when she is gone, she her memory lives on.

wow what a thoughtful thing to do, I makes my eyes tear up to hear how wonderful and sensitive these children are becoming. It restores my faith in teenagers again.

I think that was a very special thing for the student body to do. My girls lost several friends in high school from car accidents. It's a very emotional time for teens and a lot to deal with. I also think it is a wonderful way to remember their lost one.
