No way! If I knew that we had went out and bought ring a few years before, with the intentions of placing it on another woman's finger (or maybe she wore it before they broke off the engagement), then he better be out buying a new one for me! I am not taking anyone hand-me-downs!!
That's just inconsiderate and cheap!

I have to say that when my hubby and I got engaged he did not give me the same ring that he used to get engaged to his ex, thank goodness because I think it is wrong to do that although when we were shopping for wedding bands he pointed out the one he wanted us to get and then said that it was the same one that he used with his ex. I looked at him and said NO I dont think so and he asked me why and I told him because of the fact that I refuse to have the same kind of ring because of the fact that I am not her and also because of the fact that we are starting a new life together and not her starting a new life with you. That is when he said ok I guesse you have a point and I said Yes I have a really good point.

O yes! The issue is, and am glad am not a woman, when love goes sour-the heart still remains-if he has transfered his heart to me, it doesnt matter where that heart has roamed to in the past, the issue is the now-that ring was his love that didnt find a home, now it found a home in my own heart, I will gladly accept it, after all, a ring is just a mere symbol!

good day dreamy :-) Oh no never…can’t see the logic why would he do that. If a boyfriend would do that, I would be quite offended and I would never accept it and would even lecture him for hours why it is improper to do so. It’s a very intimate and private gift so you can’t give it to someone if you had previously given it to another. An engagement ring should be intended for just one person. Don’t care if the ring is cheap or not that expensive as long as it comes from the heart and is really intended to be given to me. I hope some boyfriends would have common sense.
