That can develop his skill in future.I think he still too young to understand what he was drawing. You can let him see some kid's programs or cartoon books, they're also helpful for develop imagination for children. This is my first respond,so I think it has some mistakes.I guest that you come from China.I can speak a little bit Chinese.Nice to meet you.Hope that your child can draw perfectly in future!

| | 5. Kierstal (128) | 3 months ago | I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil - about 2 years old, also. I'm 25 now, and throughout my life, people encouraged my drawing, even when I was young. If you are not an artist yourself (no one in my family was, either), the best advice I can give you is to encourage him and praise him when he draws, even if it's just scribbles, circles, or random shapes you can't make out. Coloring books are a good idea, too, but don't push him to stay inside the lines, just let him go nuts with the crayon on his own, and tell him how good it is when he's done:) The important thing is to give praise for things he draws, and never say "that doesn't look anything like a [insert thing he was trying to draw here]". If you*are* an artist, by all means, draw simple things like circles, triangles, and other shapes and try to have him mimic them. In retrospect, I would have loved a teacher when growing up - I'm entirely self-taught, and the only reason I never gave up on it is because of the encouragement of others.

Later maybe engage him in basic techniques - like you draw something and have him try to do his own replilca of the same piece. But I would definately discourage you from being too instructive at this point in time - you wouldn't want him to not want to do it any longer.
