Earthquake in China - death toll 9000 and students and trapping many more. Causing chemical leaks and buidling collapse.
As a parent that scares me to death. I probably would hesitate to send my kids to school if something similiar happened them
I know it probably can happen anywhere, and they are probably safer at school. But again, many school buildings are outdated and safety of these buildings have not met the standard ordinance, but government officials don't have the people or funds to bring them up to city codes.
So as a parent what do we have left.
This earthquake took place in China, many parts of China don't have the available funds as well.
it is a tragic story.

1.  vera5d (1958) | 3 months ago |  that is very tragic - it seems lately there have been a lot of natural disasters with the cyclones and tornadoes and everything else happening around the world.
I often wonder how safe schools are - i know where we live we probably don't have to worry too much about earthquakes but tornadoes and bad storms are always possible anywhere. You just never know what will happen which is why it's always good to enjoy every day as much as you can!

It is hard when living expenses are so high.
I agree alot of natural disaster lately. What is happening. I should be thankful that nothing crazy has happened in our states besides tons of wildfire, which I have to give credit to the firemens, they do such a great job. | |

| ch88ss (685) | 3 months ago | It is horrible. It is one of those moment where you close your eyes and want tell your boss, see you later. I don't want to spend my days 10 hours or more at work, I need to be with my kids. I wish I can just drop everything and do that. Too bad that is not possible.
But again, it is life.
I feel horrible for the families that had to go through this tragic event. I hope they can find the strenght to trust help is coming.

The number of death toll is pretty high. Everytime I listen to the news I only hear bad stuff. I wish the families get the help they need soon.

That one woke us up and scared us so I cannot imagine how scary that one in China was. I pray for all those and their families. Keep us informed.
