But limited by the length of movie, less information could be expressed, and so that some of my friends who have not seen the book first could not understand the movie clearly. So in my opinion, it is better to see book first.

By reading the book first, you will have an information about the movie and then you can totally understand the scene because always, the movie is not page by page the same with the book. They change something with the setting or story line to fit the 600+pages of the book to almost 2 hours movie time.
