Like if you were not able to pay a bill on time, or your lights, phone, water, cable bill got turned off for any reason. How did you feel when this happened?

Hi cream97! I remember that this happened to me once before. Our home phone was cut for no apparent reason. I have paid in time but it seems that my payment was not recorded at all. It is a good thing that I have my proof of payment so i went to their office and filed a complaint. At first they want me tp pay a reconnection fee but I argued and demanded to see the manager. And to make the story short, the issue was resolved and my phone service was restored on the same day. Take Care and God Bless! Happy Mylotting!

Yes, I am just glad it did. And I do believe that business makes mistake all the time that is why we have to really keep our receipts and check their computations. Take care dear!

That is good that you got what you wanted! See this is a prime example, that a business can make mistakes...

Yes, I have. It was my internet cable bill. I had money problems at that time, and didn't have enough for that pay period. It was horrible. I called the company and negotiated and they had me up and running the next hour. Still, it gave me a scare and considering how much of an internet addict I am, that was almost traumatic. LOL.. I guess, you could say, I always pay my cable bill on time.

Yes, just thinking about a utility being cut off can be scary, without it even being disconnected!

Do they even care! They know that you can't possibly take a cold shower, especially when it is very cold. It seems that society only care more about your money than they do for your health!

I have post-paid mobile connetion which offers me credit limit of around Rs. 2000. I try to make my payments whenever bill is generated few months back i maid my payment on the very last day i.e. on due date thinking that my seervices wont be discontinued as i am paying bills. But since i made online payment and it takes 24 hrs to get updated in their system, my ervice was disconnect. I was so irriitated that i called the customer care centre who should have atleast send me the notification messege or a call according to SLA (Service Level Agreement). then they resotered the services within 15 minutes. But i learnt an leson to pay bills at least one day advance.

I see, that is pretty messed up, when they cut off the utility and then you end up paying for it. What a waste of time for everyone! Why can't they just wait and see what you can do on your end! They just do this, just so you can end up paying for a reconnection fee. That is how they make their money.

Oh yes! Every month I am behind on at least 2 of my bills. I pay double on those, which makes me skip 2 more that I'll owe double on the next month! I've learned which companies are quick to come shut the utility off. Our WATER company turns the water off quickly. They don't care if I even pay part of the bill, they do not work with you. You either pay the full past due amount or it's off. My GAS got shut off before. I got wayyyyy behind by just paying what I could and I owed hundreds of dollars. They needed at least $500 one time or they would shut it off. Althouth that was a generous offer, I didn't have that much money. It was summertime, so I didn't have to worry about heating my house, and I could also hang clothes outside instead of using my dryer. I cooked all my food in the microwave since the gas stove wouldn't work. But my Gas hot water heater didn't work, so I didn't have any hot water and I truly amazed myself at how I could heat it up in a big bowl in the microwave to do dishes and I can't even explain here how I took a bath. If anyone ever has this problem, PM me and I'll explain how. It was hard, but once I got the hang of it, it worked out pretty easily. My cable got shut off about a year ago and I haven't had money to get it back on yet. The phone and internet are together and they always work with me by taking a small payment and then the rest a little later. I'd like to get the 3 in 1 plan and add the TV to that arrangement. It wouldn't be very much more than I'm paying for just the 2 things. I'll just need a deposit of $200 first which I'll get back because it will be credited to my account over the next year. (That's IF they can put one of those dish things on my house being that there are so many trees in the way.) I'll have to find out about that. Ok, I'm blabbing here. I'll stop. Lol.

I can understand what you had to go through.... Trust me when I say this. I had to deal with not having water for about one month in our house. Crazy??? The rest of the story, you don't even want to know....

I've had the cable shut off a few times then told them they could keep their crappy service. If they couldn't keep the signal coming in or fix the problems with the boxes then they shouldn't complain about the bill being a few days late. They called and hounded me to restart my service and I never did. I went with someone else and am a lot happier now!

Thankfully, no. We've had to borrow in the past to keep things on but never had anything turned off on us. My Mom tends to have her electric and phone turned off all the time b/c she waits till the last minute to pay it and sometimes forgets. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

When my husband and I first got together we had our cell phone shut off. It was the frist cell phone we had and we ran the bill up to $400! Now we have a plan with a set amount of mintues instead of paying for all the minutes! I have had disconect notices for lights and gas but I have paid them and not had them shut off.

Good for you! It is great that you had came up with the money before they could have turned your utilities off. It does beat, paying for an reconnection fee.

our phone lines were cut off literally. once my dad got fed up with the family using the phone all the time, so he got mad and got scissors and cut the phone lines of the house. hahaha.. looking back at it what he did was funny. but it still we had no phone for like a whole year! lol. it was good though because theres no ringing noise, nobody calls and it was quiet in the house. hehehe... i didnt need the phne much anyway. but my dad did. lol.. people who used to call a lot on the phone now kept calling him on his cellphone poor thing. a year later the phone line was connected again and the family didnt use it as much.
