i was touched of what i saw..

I have neer had an experience like that, If one member of the family was ill, then we didn't find it fair to travel without the sick member. We would have rather all stayed at home with the sick member of the family, rather than leaving them behind while we went off and had fun.

Oh yeah. I too had similar experience. When I was around 7, my mom had to leave for my uncle's engagement with my brother, and as my grandpa was sick, my dad had to stay back and I had exams so I too had to stay back. I cried all night. I still remember that incident. And I now have made a point that I wont take just one of my two kids for vacation.

We were living in the tropics and I had acquired what they said was "some rare tropical virus" and was quite ill and had been for some time.... the phone calls started coming in= call after call - I was sitting on the rocker with my mother, she was crying. I did not understand what was going on. Next thing I knew she was going back to the states and I was to be left behind, with my dear father to take care of me.

Grandpa had died.

Mom was gone for a month, her mother did not want her to go back to us saying that my dad was exaggerating when he told her that she will probably have another funeral to go to when she got back home - as I was probably not going to live much longer.

Poor Mom, her mother making her feel guilty and her heart wanting to rush back to take care of me.
