when i came to visit them, my 5 year old my niece was standing near the door without moving looking sad , no sounds being heared just a tears that roll down from her eyes and looking at her mom , brother and a sister leaving and on the way to surigao for a vacation..she was not able to be with them coz she was sick and not fit to travel ..and i can relate to that.. since i was also left alone with my dad when my mom went on a trip together with my brothers..any similar experiences??

Oh yeah. I too had similar experience. When I was around 7, my mom had to leave for my uncle's engagement with my brother, and as my grandpa was sick, my dad had to stay back and I had exams so I too had to stay back. I cried all night. I still remember that incident. And I now have made a point that I wont take just one of my two kids for vacation.

I have neer had an experience like that, If one member of the family was ill, then we didn't find it fair to travel without the sick member. We would have rather all stayed at home with the sick member of the family, rather than leaving them behind while we went off and had fun.
