I watched a movie in the theater last night. That was a really violent movie. There seemed to be one killing about every ten minutes. I began to get a bit sick of it long before the end.
I'm wondering why are so many movies so full of violence? Maybe because violence is good box office? But I don't like violent movie anyway. It's so cruel and I don't think it has a positive impact in our life, especially for the kids. Some get lost in them and act really weird, even get their personality twisted.
Well the next movie I go to see will be romantic comedy which makes me happy and love more.

I myself do not mind violence in movies, depending on the type of movie it is. But if your looking for a positive impact your looking in the wrong place. The box office rarely presents anything that is full of positivity and of good influence where children are concerned. But speaking for myself I don't want every movie I go see in the theater to be scripted for children.

It depends on the type of violence. I've gone off the type of film that seems to glorify really sick, twisted violence, eg Saw, Hostel

There are a lot of violent movies around, some are OK it just depends on what the film is about. Pointless violent movies seem to be just a waste of time. Kids watch these movies whether they are allowed to or not, mine have watched films that they really should not watch but with having a 16 year old it is hard to keep an eye on what they watch and do not watch. When I buy DVD's I tend to go for family ones that are OK for them to watch, I never buy a violent movie as I have no interest in them. I would say that a romantic comedy is probably a better film to watch!!

My husband likes all these actions movies & sometimes I will see them with him, but I agree with you. I don't like it when a movie is too violent. We rented one movie one night(honestly can't remember the name) & it was so violent I told my husband to shut it off that I didn't want it in our home. It was so bloody & like you said someone was getting shot every 10 mins. or so. What makes people enjoy seeing another human getting killed? I just don't understand some people today.

I don't know why the make so many of those movies. I would much rather see a movie with suspense, action and a good story. If someone has to be killed in order to advance the plot, it should be done without being so graphic.

I like really old movies and in those, when someone is killed, they usually show the murder as a shadow on the wall, or you hear a scream then a gunshot--you rarely see the actual murder. The implication of murder is much more effective, at least for me, than the graphic bloody slayings of today's movies. Of course, back then, they had laws within the movie industry and murder was one of the things you couldn't show if it involved graphic violence or blood.

Movies are full of violence because people are violent and aggressive. Our movies just shows the human attitude. The human attitude is violent and aggressive. Therefore, the movies are full of violence.
It is true that kids get affected by such movies. So we have to keep them away from such movies.

Babies in Violent Movies

I get so mad when I see parents bringing toddlers (ages 4+) into violent, gory, scary movies. I think it is so stupid and I feel so sorry for those children. They don't need to, and probably want to...

Do you let your children play gory games? Or watch gory movies?

I don't think that it is such a good idea too. I bet that almost all the parents out there would agree with me, but since we love our childrens and can't say no, we buy them those games or let them...
