Do you know anyone with brain cancer?

My Father was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer in Feburary of 2007. He passed away on March 26, 2008. Before his diagnosis, I didn't know anyone with brain cancer, and thought it was very rare. When we found out what he had I started researching it and found out that there are around 13,000 deaths from brain cancers each year! I just had no idea it was that prevalent. Now, I'm hearing about numerous people who have some type of brain cancer. A man living up the road from us has it, 3 people at a friend's church have it, and another friend of mine said she knew two people who had died recently from brain tumors. I've also been hearing about it more on the news it seems. Maybe it's just that I pay more attention now because it hit close to home. But, there has been some evidence that people who were in Vietnam during the war have a higher incidence of brain cancer. My Dad served there, and all the people at my friend's church did as well. It is a terrible condition to have, and it's hard to watch a loved one slowly deteriorate. I hope that I don't hear about anyone else with it for a long time.
