Why do kids chew on stuff while watching TV?  | |  I was responding to a discussion and I happen to look over at my kids and both of them had their fingers in their mouths. I motioned for them to remove their filanges and they did, now they are chewing on the corners of couch pillows. I've fed them, honest. Is this just a thing kids do? I don't remember doing it.

I thought at first that you might have been just talking about your kids munching on junk food but fingers? and the corners of couch pillows? I haven't heard of that before and there might be some who could share similar experiences.

It a normal thing and be thankful it's not like a little marble or something right? I contsantly had my fingers in my mouth as a kid and I eventually stopped after a few years when I got to be 7 or 8. I really wouldn't worry to much about it and I'm sure their fed well by you so don't worry.

| | | | | | 3. hellcowboy (1403) | 2 months ago |  I dont remember chewing on stuff while watching television when I was a kid,but that doesnt mean I didnt do it,I guess maybe it has something to do with the moving pictures on the television that makes a kids brain think that they have to chew on something,even though it is kind of odd.

| hellcowboy (1403) | 2 months ago | Yeah thats true it could be be something about anticipation, cause sometimes when people are nervous they tend to chew on their nails,so maybe the same thing applys with kids,except kids chew on other things other than just their fingers. | |
