Helping hands  | |  Does the world really lend a helping hand now days? Or are we only concerned with our own affairs?
We see other countries stepping in to help victims of storms and wars. We see people helping strangers all the time, but do we really follow through with that helping hand. I don't know if you have seen that AIG commercial or not. The one where one person helps another person (a stranger on the street) and that person returns the helping hand to another stranger. I think if the world as a whole did that we would have a better place of dwelling for ourselves and our future children. Is it really that hard to do?
Oprah had a show once where she paid for the person behind her in the toll lane. The only request was for the next person to pay for the next person's fare. ANd you know what the city of Chicago stood proud and carried it through.
So do you think it is possible for people to use their helping hands,or just let them sit idly by when a stranger needs help?

But, I think there is a majority of individuals who would rather have more concern with themselves. I'd like to think that people should be above their ignorance by now, since we are in 2008. I guess some people will always be conceited. I think we could do so much more if we all decided to pitch in. Everybody needs some helping hands in some form or another.

I hear that form so many people when we fall upon the topic of helping others and in a way I can see their point. Because it is hard to trust someone you don't know and sometimes when you help people in certain situations it can set you up to get burnt. But overall I agree about people starting to care about others more. And it should keep going that way.
