New pet gerbil  | |  So, I got a new baby gerbil boy. His name is Pip Squared. However, my dilemma is that all that I have is my old guinea pig's cage and he can fit through the bars on it. So, right now, I have him in a little travel cage. I want to be able to put him in the bigger cage but have no idea how to stop him from crawling out the cage while I am not watching him. Anyone have any ideas on what I can put around the bottom of the cage to ensure that he does not climb out. Any suggestions? I would also appreciate any hints and tips on gerbil care as this is the first one that I have ever owned. Thanks!

we would love to see what he looks like! I use to own gerbils back when i was younger. but i don't no more now. i own guinea pigs. They are my pets.
to answer you question, get an aquarium tank, at least a 30 gallon and than he wont be able to climb out of it. unless if he can fly. LOL
when i had my lil gerbils, I'd put them in an aquarium 30 gal. tank.
and they kept in there, and done great too.
