Cd's and vcr a thing of the past | | With technology growing everyday will cd's become a thing of the past just like VCR tapes have become old news compared to DVD's of today. Now that MP3 players have become the hottest way to listen to music will people stop buying CD's?

I can say this because there are lots of free download on the internet and we can now burn our own music, video and dvd's right in our own homes. Lots of people nowadays dont use mp3's just for this reason. Im one of them actually. I dont believe in mp3 players. They are just a waste of money. Yeah I know its cool to have them and headbanging to your earphones but you get tired of listening to the same songs that you've uploaded there and then when you are tired of it you go through the hassle of uploading new ones. The mp3's that give and can store 50,000 songs are ridiculous. For me at least. There is only 24 hours in a day and you cant really listen to all of them. they can be good for a lifetime but by the time you get to the song theres already a new one out. Anyways, the tapes in video cameras are being slowly pushed out by the rewritable cd ones. I like the tapes, they're small and cute but I guess like you said, they will be a thing of the past. With the VCR's and cd's for tv and movies. Why bother when there's TiVo?

However, I think that it will be a long while before CDs lose their popularity. MP3 players are fine if you are playing pop music etcetera, but they are not so useful for opera due to the removal of many of the higher notes.
