Now that Matt Walsh has spoken to the League and Sen. Specter, is it over? He said there was no videotape of the Rams walkthrough. The Herald has retracted its story. So is this the end? Or do you agree with Sen. Specter that there needs to be an independent investigation? If there is an independent investation should it just be of the Patriots? Or should it be all teams and all forms of cheating?

Specter will want to keep it going because he's still bitter over the fact that the Eagles didn't win the Super Bowl and won't get over it. It should be over but this moron wants to waste more tax money when there are much bigger issues to worry about. What makes this so important? I say let the league handle it themselves and be done with it.

Well, yes, don't you know that the Pats made McNabb too weak and sick to run an effective 2 minutes offense? The Eagles could not have lost just because the other team HAD to be better.

Now. because there is a statutory anti-trust exemption for Football that is granted by Congress, they have the right to make sure the game is being conducted in the public interest. However, you're right, without a lot more evidence that this actually affected the outcome of games -- and without expanding the evidence to every other team that admitted over the last year they also taped defensive signals -- Congress has better things to do with their time.

Fortunately, Specter has ZERO support in Congress for pushing this any further. Let's hope it dies a deserved death.

I agree. It needs to end. To continue this story would be ridiculous and a waste of time. It just angers me that there are bigger issues and this guy wants to go after this while not worrying about the bigger picture. It's as if he was staying "Screw everyone else, this is more important." That's how I feel about the situation.
