I am having problems getting my email to download to OE

Can anyone tell me what the cause of it could be or how to fix it? I hate going to the webmail to get my mail.
I keep getting this error message when I try to download.
"The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'bargains4wahms', Server: 'pop.east.cox.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"
Any ideas on what this means? This is driving me crazy!

Hi Icy-wish I could help on this one-one I don't even now what POP3 is but often I get the same thing come up and would like to know what it is-so will be interesting to read what other mylotters have to say-your friend littleowl

Hi Icyorchid,
If this is working before then maybe your POP3 server is just down at the moment else check your POP3/SMTP configuration and make sure that it is valid. To set it go to [Tools][Accounts] Mail tab, select you account and press [Properties] button. In its property window select Server tab check POP3, SMTP and account login. Hope this helps.
