Cherries |
|
I love to eat cherries. The good news is they are on sale this weekend. I'm now hunting for some good cherry recipes, as plan to buy 5 or 6 pounds of them. Some of them will become Cherry Pies. What do you like to make with cherries?

2. wooitsmolly (1430) | 4 months ago | I just bought a bag of cherries at the grocery store the other day. I haven't had them in so long and they looked so good. Well, they cost almost 6 dollars for that little bag! I am eating them slowly... lol. I don't like to make anything out of them! I just like to eat them as they are. Delicious.

Fishmomma (3272) | 4 months ago | Its so terrible to see how much we now spend to eat correctly. I am not thrilled to see good food go up. Last week, I watched a young mother trying to figure out which fruit was a good deal and watch her 2 little ones at the store. I went over and asked the produce man to help the young woman. She was amazed that another customer noticed her. I went to the apple area and the produce man told us about each of the apples. Her little daughter handed me a bag and she held a bag, as we selected apples. It was good to see her face light up, as she picked out some apples. I really enjoyed shopping that day. Thanks for the reply.

I'm like the other commenters. I like to just eat them. Can't wait to see if someone gives you some good recipes, though.

Fishmomma (3272) | 4 months ago | I lived on a farm as a child and we had an orchard. We had cherries, plums, peaches and pears in large numbers. We would freeze fruit. I should have purchased a large freezer, as my little one is full. Thanks for the reply.

5. makingpots (4069) | 4 months ago | I like cherries just as they are... Yum. I grew up with a black cherry tree in my yard and it was great. I don't like cherry pie or anything like that. I think because everytime I've ever had it, it was made with the syrupy canned cherries.

Fishmomma (3272) | 4 months ago | Thanks for the reply. There is no question fresh cherries are better in pies than canned cherries. I prefer to use fresh whenever possible.
