What does the star mean?

I notice that when you answer a post or start a discussion there is a star by your avatar. Could someone tell me what that star means cause i had a 7 and not it's an 8. Is that a good thing or bad thing? I don't know could someone tell me what that means in regards to my status in My Lots? Thank you!!!
