Why do kids find it necessary to open their car windows and blast their music? |
|
OMG, I feel so old. But I just don't get it. I never did this. Yeah, I blasted out my eardrums in the glorious '80's. But only on the highway if my windows were opened. I respected others' feelings. I didn't feel the need to advertise my music to everyone. Even in my "metal" days, I still only cranked it when the windows were up or if I was on a road trip. I am sitting here at nearly midnight listening to the bass of some kid driving down the road. And I live in a rural area. What about the rest of us? So tell me, does this bother you or am I just getting really, really old. LOL

2. sameroad (750) | 2 months ago | I do it because I just love my music as loud as it can go! and i'm not really sure.. it just feels good? some people may have no choice too. like my cousin doesn't have AC in his car so he has to have his windows down while hes driving because its too hot not to.. i'm not really sure why i/people do it... maybe its a habit as well.

4. Angelwhispers (4208) | 2 months ago | Our city put into place a noise ordinance specifically about the bass boomer's. They are just not lawful here anymore. There is no reason you need to be sitting in your living room and have your bay windows rattle. But yeah Cyn we are getting that old that it really annoys us.

5. mummymo (9985) | 2 months ago | You are getting so old I am surprised you can still hear at all! lol I don't mind if someone is playing their music but I know exactly what you mean - it is almost as though they are trying to get everyone to give them lots of attention! If they were doing it at midnight I would be raging and likely to lose it with them! xxx

7. inked4life (3273) | 2 months ago | I must confess. I am 40 years old and still drive around with the windows rolled down and my obnoxious industrial music at high volume. When it's late though, or if I am entering my apartment complex parking area then I roll up the windows and turn it right down. I have at least learned a little respect in my old age...LOL

9. myklj999 (2853) | 2 months ago | Well, I'm 48 and I still love to "crank it up", but I do have the decency to turn it down if I'm in a residential area. However, when I was younger, I never gave it a thought. I'm still a firm believer in "if it's too loud, you're too old", but I also believe everyone else has a right to peace and quiet, so I do try to be reasonable about it.
