What is your favourite type of movie?

Well, I think the reason why there is a focus on dialogue in the old black and white movies is due to the newfangled sound affects at the time. In many respects we have gone full circle reverting back to the 'visul affects' that prevailed in the silent genre of movie See Charlie Chaplin's movies which rely heaviy on silent film to exacerbarete visual affects. ( Chaplin was reluctant to use sound, though it was available in his later career). Today's films are much the same, in that they subdue the dialogue to emphesize visual affects.

Nevertheless, my personal preference is for dialogue. I suppose that's why I'm into old films.
