For older musicals that take me back to childhood, I do like Grease, the Sound of Music, and A Chorus Line.

One of my favourite musical is Jesus Christ Superstar because the music and lyrics are absolutely amazing. I also really love the wizard of Oz, Bugsy Malone, Oliver and Joseph.
Though I think my all time favourite has to be Rocky Horror Picture Show. Really fantastic, especially sing along versions! | |

I don't know if it falls under the category but I love the songs there. I suggest you guys watch it...:)

| | | | 6.  Xdrowninghavocx (2151) | 3 months ago |  High School Musical is basically the new Grease. I've seen both TV movies and they aren't that bad, lol. I admit it. But, my favorite movie musical, hands down, is Rent. I've seen the Broadway show and I think it's one of the best ever written. Jonathan Larson is my hero. He wrote the music and lyrics with sincerity. I think the director of the film version did a great job at capturing the theme and the story on camera. It's sad to see that the show is leaving now.
