Lol. I got tickled once. I was trying to be polite and said hind quarters instead of other words for behind or bottom. No one knew what I meant. It isn't just slang, it's accents. Everyone giggles at me because when I say the word "pink", it sounds like "pank". My friends love to use "pank" now just to tease me a bit. Also, there are funny little sayings. My father in law made me scratch my head when he said, "that is like trying to sandpaper a lion's butt." Now where did that come from?

The word 'lush' When I lived in the London area it described someone who was a drunk and in later years a bit of a loose woman. Then when I moved to Devon people started saying this person was just so lush and it confused me as lush down here means gret, hot, sexy, really good that type of thing and it is also the name now of a body products shop. They also call people 'my lover' at the end of a sentence whether you know them or not, I thought this was strange to begin with too. Ellie :D
