What scary movies would you let a 15 year old watch? |
|
I have a daughter that loves scary movies. Has for years. They drive me nuts I am such a chicken. I know I should watch them before her but well again I am a chicken. She hasn't run after anyone with a knife so they aren't turning her bad. I am just curious though what scary movies would you let a 15 year old watch.

I've had a love for horror movies since I was a wee boy and she seems to have picked that up without any kind of influence from me. Only you can really be the judge of what she might find to be okay or unsettling. My daughter loves ghosts, but hates the sight of blood so I let her watch "Ghost Hunters" and "Most Haunted" on TV. Your daughter would probably be fine with a lot of the PG rated flicks they seem to churn out now like "The Return", "The Grudge" etc. Try those first and see what she....You are always free to IM me with horror questions...I am a walking horror movie rolodex....LOL

2. Adelida2233 (916) | 2 years ago | I was allowed to watch any movie I wanted, as long as it wasn't X rated. My boyfriend and I both grew up watching horror movies, and we are both fine. I think it's actually good to expose children to things like that while they are still at home(not a 6 year old or anything, but 15 is fine), that way they are exposed to it at home, rather than around a group who may inspire something illegal or wrong morally.
I can't list all the movies I've watched here, there isn't enough room, and you probably have only heard of a third of them. A few of my friends are into some really odd movies(some that make me wonder how they even got made in the first place).

Today's movies seem to push the limits of cinema, the horror genre in particular. She has to watch the 2004 version of Dawn of The Dead. That movie is awesome. But, if she watches that, make sure she sees the original. I like most of the Horrorfest movies. I don't know if you would allow them, but they are pretty cool.

4. thelastwolf113 (3089) | 2 years ago | Nah, 15 is old enough. I let my son watch horror movies when he was little, same as I did with my dad when I was little. Teenagers and pre-teens are a bit morbid, so it feeds that fascination.

6. lorelai (856) | 2 years ago | I am a member of the club of chickens when we talk about scery movies. I really hate them because as ridiculous and unrealistic they may be I always can't fall a sleep after them and I check each sound and shadow in the dark. So I prefer spering myself from that.I have one friend who likes horror movies since she was a child. She always wanted me to go with her to the cinema to see them but I never did. If you think that it doesn't have any bad effect on your doughter I think you should let her wacth whatever she likes. It's not that all horror movies are the same and she probably knows best what she likes. I must admit that I hate more psycologilal horrors that stupid horrors like Freddy and that kind a stuff. So if she is not scared to watch them let her watch them.
