Do you renew your car tags by mail, Internet or in person?

Most times I renew the car tag and registration by Internet. I used to mail in payment once a year to renew, but that got to be a hassle. Our local DMV is a real pain to deal with, so I stay as far away as possible. I guess most people don't like long lines either. They charge three dollars to renew online, but it's totally worth it. Do you mail in your once a year tag renewal fee or do it in person? Have you tried renewing online? Is that more of a hassle than renewing in person? Or does it really save you lots of time?

I do it in person. I live in a small town and it doesn't take too long. My bank is close to, I just do it in one trip.

OK! That's good. In our town it's a massive effort to deal with the local officials. And my spouse has so little spare time to drive down and sit for three hours. So I just do it online. It's never a big deal. Usually takes less than a week to get back. Just input the insurance and driver's license info and they take care of the details. Very easy!
