| What Do You Think About The 2008 New York Yankees?  | | | |  I think that they haven't learned from last year. You need good pitching in order to win which they haven't had in a while. I think that they can't get themselves to far behind like they did last year. If they do end up getting far behind again I don't think they will make the playoffs this year.

| |  They are in a bad spot. They put a lot of their 08 hopes on Hughes and Kennedy and they haven't panned out. Wang has been good, Pettitte okay and Mussina looks like he'll be the most expenisive #5 starter in baseball.
Without Posada and ARod, their 2 most consistent hitters last year, out of the lineup for quite awhile, they don't have much of a chance.
Honestly, ARod needs to come back and put together a superb May and June to get the Yanks back into it. The Yankee offense needs to score at least 6 runs every game to have a shot of winning every night (except when Wang pitches)

Then again a lot of people put a lot of hopes in those to guys. Their offense has to wake up they been getting killed. I'm hoping they start to turn things around. | | | |

| | I don't think passing on Santana was a bad thing. He gave up 33 homers last year and has been stuggling again this year (already in double-digits in homers allowed) The last thing the Yanks need is to overpay for a player who's career has already peaked and is now beginning the down-slide of his career.
I'd much rather the Yanks spend big on a guy in his mid-to late 20s...like they could've with Dontrelle Willis. He's a stud with many yrs ahead of him.
Santana might've helped the Yanks, but they still wouldn't be anywhere near 1st place with him.
I still like Kennedy and I think he's only a start or two away from regaining his confidence. I still think he'll be a big league starter...a #3-#5 and if he and Hughes can regain the confidence they pitched with last year, they'll be fine (and then the Yanks bullpen won't be stressed)
The hitting is another thing... ARod will need to carry the team, as only Matsui and Jeter are really hitting right now. Giambi, Cano, Damon, and to a lesser extent Abreu are really hurting the offense right now.

| |  The New York Yankees are on my list of my three favorite teams in major league baseball, and they are my favorite American League team.
I really hate seeing them struggle like they are this year. I hope they will have a huge turn around pretty soon, or you may just be right. It may be too late for them.

| |  They have not looked good at all this year. They always start of slow though. I mean do you really think the rays and orioles are going to continue to play like they have been. With A-rod hurt and all its been a rough start but things will straighten out I think. I do not see a world series appearance this year but would think they will make the playoffs.
