Have you heard of Hypermiling? | | Hypermiling apparently has been around for a few years, and I just heard of it this morning on the news, there is even a website that has all the information of how to get more MPG.
http://www.hypermiling.com/
>What is hypermiling? According to a a fantastic August 2006 story in the Washington Post, it is a method of increasing your car's gas mileage by making skillful changes in the way you drive, allowing you to save gas and thereby have an easier time withstanding the rising oil and gas prices. <
So have you heard of hypermiling? Do you already use some of these techniques? If you don't, will you start using some of these techniques? One of the techniques is>> The first step toward saving gas and increasing mpg: Always know your gas mileage after each visit to the gas pump. << I can't do this because my odometer hasn't work in a very long time, but I can apply some of the other techniques.
With the price of gas we have to do everything we can to squeeze as much as we can out of a gallon of gas!

Somethign else I heard that saves gas, and I have done ever since I have heard it, is to not top off your gas tank. Once you do, the excess just turns in to vapor and doesn't even make it to your tank. I really have no idea if this is true or not, but I figure it cannot hurt.

terri0824 (3510) | 2 years ago | There probably is truth to topping off the gas tank. I very seldom put in a full tank at a time. I use to put $5 in at a time, and now I have to put 5 gallons in at a time. Everytime I do it seems it cost be a dollar more to do so.
