I am interested in the history of the Netherlands and how the various groups

came there. I have a friend who moved out of province (I live in Canada) and she was telling me that her family were descended from Jews who converted to Christianity, and how the local villagers did not trust them at first because they were not sure of them at first. I also have friends who may have Middle Eastern Roots, a friend whose background may have been Italian or French, and I surmise this is because the Dutch did a lot of traveling around and when they married, the children became Dutch like their fathers. So I wonder if anyone here has some very interesting stories as to how other peoples not Dutch to begin with integrated into the nation.
