Which is better digital or film photography |
|
What's your photo fav, digital or film photography? It seems there is an on going discussion about the benefits of shooting digital versus shooting film. Is it cheaper to shoot with digital or film? Does your finances dictate which Nikon you'll buy, the digital one or the film one? Which digital is the one you use?

1. danishcanadian (20492) | 2 years ago | I prefer digital photography, because I don't have to wait to see the picture, I can delete it if I don't like it, I don't waste film if I don't like the picture, I don't have to pay to get it developed, and if a picture doesn't turn out, I don't have to wait to see it, and pay for it to find out it's a crappy picture.

2. kriszelunka (527) | 2 years ago | Having worked in a photography lab, I have to save that film photography still produces a superior quality picture. However, having said that, you need to be an excellent photographer in order to ensure that the pictures turn out well, as there is no way to preview your shots before printing the film. Because of this, digital photography is actually much cheaper over time - your initial set up costs are more, but there's no need to purchase film, and you can view the shots as you go, adjusting things as required to get a better shot.

| 3. NIGHTWOLF420 (12) | 2 years ago | in my honest opinion i think it depends on who the person is behinde the camera & what way they want to capture the objects they're taking pictures of. like for instance i like digital cameras for still pictures but for portraits i think film would be best, but then again like i said it all depends on the person taking the pictures it's thier ballgame so therefore they're in control . not the other people that give thier two cents in on the descussion, leave it to the photographer & or the client that wants the pictures done .

4. oneandonemakesix (24038) | 2 years ago | Hands down I prefer digital photography, simply because of the ease of taking pictures no wasted film, you know if a picture flies or dies on the spot,
Most camera companies have stopped making film cameras, and while 35mm film is going to be produced I think that it is only a matter of time before it goes the rout of obsolete.

5. yanna1027 (171) | 2 years ago | I've tried both and each one has its own plus and minuses. I have been using a digital camera for almost 8 years and I don't think I've touched my film camera since then. Digital photography is more instant, way easier and much cheaper. I also like the ease in sharing my pictures through online albums.

7. pitstop (2286) | 1 year ago | I'm not a camera pro - but I prefer digital. However when browsing through the photos although seeing it on a computer is good, I prefer putting all the picture prints in a photo album and seeing them. The main advantage of a digital camera is the fact that you can immediately review your photo and take a lot of copies so you can choose the best - you can play around with settings and angles.
