The best notebook

I have a Dell Inspiron 600m. I have had it for 4 years! Dell has been so good to keep up their warranty and my laptop is still ticking. I really like it but I think it is coming to about time to get a new one. LOL God bless you!

I just bought a Dell Vostro 1500 online. It is a great computer for a really good deal. It has a Intel Core2 Duo processor, (Don't buy a Celeron) it has 2GB of memory which is adequate for any operating system (even Vista if you like pain and suffering) 160GB hard drive and a DVD burner for about $680.00 to the door. I upgraded the battery to a 9-cell and the warranty to a 3-yr instead of the 1-yr that it came with. You can save even more without these upgrades but I recommend them. The trick is to build the system online then call and speak to a person when you order the actual computer and ask for free shipping. This will save you a little more. Dells are the best laptops out there and have the best warranty. Good luck!!!!!

I bought a little Sony Vaio (VGN-TXN15P) last year for use when I am traveling, I needed to attend a business conference and wanted something that I would not get exhausted lugging around the convention center.

So far I have only one bad experience with the little thing, it seems to be starting to have some trouble with the battery being recognized. I'm not sure what is going on, but it only happens occasionally and has a 6 hour battery life on it, so I can deal with it. What happens is sometimes when I start it up, it says that it does not recognize the battery and needs to let it go into hibernation mode while I fix the problem. I just turn it right back on and it works perfectly.

I can slip the little computer into my purse, which is not even a large purse, and take it anywhere I need to go. Getting my work done while sitting in the waiting room of a doctor's office or riding in the car when someone else is driving.

It did cost me more than other laptops cost, but in my humble opinion it has made up for the higher price in being easy to grab and go without having to exhaust myself carrying it. I never even realize it's in my purse when I am carrying the purse around with the Vaio in it.

I'm using a local brand (Thailand) notebook which is quite old.
I with to get a new one too.

However, I would like to suggest that you should define your purpose to use a notebook computer.
Since the prices are different between each kind of notebook.
