Sony Vaio Battery Troubles?

I have a Sony Vaio, and recently it has been having problems with the battery not being recognized.

Sometimes when I turn it on, the computer will say that it does not recognize the battery (which is the original one that came with it when I purchased the laptop about 6 months ago), and that it has to go into hibernation mode while I repair the problem.

I let it go into hibernation, then immediately turn it back on (even without doing anything to the battery) and it works just fine. The first few times I removed and reseated the battery, but now I just turn it back on without messing with the battery.

Has anyone else had any experience with this happening with their Vaio laptops? Any idea what causes it or how it can be fixed?

Thanks for the response, Juzten. It seems to be a uncomfortably common problem for Viao owners for several years now from what I have seen online, but I have not yet found anything that says what the cause or cure of it is. I'll keep looking though, and if I find out anything I will post it here.

It is Possibly in the Software Settings in Your Laptop as they can Change by Themselves. Go into Your Control Panel & the Power Settings & See what the
Setting are. Consult Your On Screen Manual & Tutorial for the Proper Specs
by the Manufacturer. Reset them to the Proper Settings, Check for Dirt & Dust & Food on the Battery Contacts & in the Battery Compartment. Clean if Dirty
with a Cloth till the Area is Clean. Dampen Cloth, Paper Towel Very Slightly with
any Acid Based Cleaner like Vinegar or Alcohol Based Cleaner & Dry the Area
Thouroughly with a Dry Paper Towel or Cloth. Let Dry & Put the Battery in Place
Check the Battery & Charging System & make sure it Don't Say Low Battery after
a Full Charge. You have Over Charged the Battery and not Know it & needs to be Replaced. You can get a Battery that has less Life than Expected as these are
made in Quantities & a Battery can be Bad as the Metals Inside can go Bad in a

Thank for the info, I'll try checking on the settings. I know I had changed the settings for when the hard drive and monitor shuts off when on battery power, but I can't recall if that was before or after this trouble started. Excellent idea to check on that as the culprit. I'll also check the battery connectors, even though I have never removed the battery except for the one time I removed and reset it after this stuff started, dust and stuff could still have gotten in there and be causing the trouble.
