I woke up yesterday morning with leg pain. My right leg was all tight with muscle pain. I belive it was from having ms but gosh it was painful. Does anyone else wake up with these kind of leg cramps? Or couse today I am having sholder pain but that is from doing exersises from going to massage thearapy and doing them at home.

I had taken the pain medication Celebrex, which I ended up being allergic to. Shortly after stopping, I would get a horrible cramp in my left cafe. It was so bad that it would cause me to holler out in the early morning hours. It never lasted more than 3 minutes, but it was very intense. Afterwards, I was able to fall right back asleep. Eventually it stop happening.

I have never tried Celebrex myself. I took a Darvoset myself. I tried to lay back down but I couldn't go back to sleep. I tried to rub it I thought that would help. I might ask for Celebrex to see if it helps. I am also on Nerition which started out being a pill for epilipsy but it helps nerve pain also.

That's not good. I am allergic to codiene for the same reason. It made me itch all over really bad.

A lot of people are allergic to Celebrex. But if you can take it, it works very well. The only other side effect that I had was that the insides of my hands were itching life crazy.

I always do..LOL, sometimes my neck and body hurts a lot. Maybe I failed to change position while sleeping. But, the good thing about it is, just by little twist of my body and little exercise, I can always correct the pain!

Shaun, Try some menthol rub on the tight muscles, like icyhot or tigerbalm. They help relax the muscle. then, as soon as you can, try to stretch it out realy well. More potassium can help too as discussed earlier. Finally, drink lots of water...it seems to help me get fewer leg cramps. Mostly now, i just ahve the constant back pain...

I will look for both for this. Thanks for theses tips I know I need more potassium and water. I try to drink 40 to 60 oz a day if I can.

I did have some experience waking up from leg cramps but it very rarely happens. Sometimes years would pass by without me having it. I notice that I only get leg cramps if I have not exercised for very long and has gained weight and I did some very physical activities the day before.

That could be the problem. I did go to exersise class a couple of days before. I'm proberly just not use to my legs lifting weights. It is only 20 lbs but they have me doing let lifts with them 30 times. I don't think my body has gotten use to these exersises yet.
