I work for a graphic installation company that does construction style work across the US. I am a project coordinator and I my skills are very dynamic. I'm not saying I am extremely skilled but I do my job to the best of my ability and can do a little in many different departments. I also have some experience in management and would really like to carry this title with this company one day. Last night I was talking with my boss last night and he was telling me of some other jobs that we may be getting and I told him that I was prepared for new responsibilities and would like to get more training if that was possible for me. He responded with "Ok, we'll discuss.". That was it. What do you think this means?
This is sort of a mans company and all the women that work here think that the men won't give the women a position as supervisor or manager. I (a woman) don't think this is true if the person is qualified. I don't think I'm qualified enough yet but plan on getting some education and training if they will allow it so I can be considered for those positions.
What do you think about this?
